As a food reviewer, I've had the privilege of exploring many dining locations, but few stand out quite like Halal Street. It offers an all-you-can-eat (AYCE) experience that caters not only to diverse palates but also to those seeking halal options—a distinctive feature that sets it apart from traditional hot pot venues. Guests can indulge in a generous selection of beef, lamb, and chicken—all sourced to ensure the highest quality without the gamey taste often associated with halal meat.

One of the most appealing aspects of Halal Street is its well-stocked sauce bar. Many customers rave about it, noting that it rivals offerings from well-known competitors like Haidilao. The variety of sauces allows diners to personalize their hot pot experience fully, enhancing the flavors of the fresh ingredients available.

The atmosphere is equally accommodating. Halal Street embraces a modern yet casual vibe, making it the perfect spot for both tourists and locals alike. The spacious seating arrangement, complete with the option to bring your furry friends along, adds to the comfort. Great deal for AYCE hotpot that also includes some hot items. They offer beef and lamb here, and the cuts of meat are great. Some places have meat that are almost all fat, but this place had more lean meat. The sauce bar has plenty of options and they also have included add-ons like vegetables, seafood, and tofu. The broth was a little bit bland and they only have a few options. The hot items when I went were pork bao buns, fried rice, and egg rolls.

The lunch special is definitely worth it for $20/pp and I ended coming back a couple times in a month. When you walk in the door, the left side is the AYCE hot pot. They only serve 3 kinds of meat - beef, lamb and chicken which they come around to drop off at your table. If you're not looking for a huge variety of meat, this is definitely sufficient. They also have a huge buffet of fresh veggies, noodles, and seafood. The sauce bar is included along with some random cooked item like fried rice (not to miss!) and churned ice cream. Overall, the food was really fresh and the quality was good. I like the tom yum broth too - super flavorful!

Food was so good that I had to write the review while still at my table. The all you can eat buffet is exactly that! There are so many options and you definitely won't leave with an empty stomach. Not only is there all you can eat lamb and beef but there a ton of options in the buffet. Everything I had was exquisite. Will definitely be back.

This is probably the best Xinjiang food I've ever had. I recommend getting the regular menu and not the hotpot. My favorite dish was the stir-fried lamb tripe. It has a unique taste and is probably the tastiest thing I ordered here. The lamb rice is very good too. Skewers and the da pan ji is not bad too. This restaurant has high quality food, but don't expect the service to be quick. I like to judge more on food than service, therefore I'll give it five stars. Bonus of having kvass on their menu, a fermented Russian drink.

Halal Street Hot Pot & Xinjiang Cuisine truly excels at what it does. It offers an all-you-can-eat hot pot experience that appeals to a wide range of diners, including those with a strong preference for halal options. This inclusivity sets it apart from many other hot pot establishments. Full disclosure: my review might be slightly biased since a good friend of mine generously covered my bill. That said, the $35 cost per person for a hot pot dinner here feels like excellent value since you get high-quality ingredients, unlimited protein options, warm green tea, and attentive service that includes frequent stock refills when your broth runs low. I particularly enjoyed the crab sticks and the kebabs, and was surprised at the many different food options that exist outside of the immediate food bar. One feature that stood out to me was the inclusion of a prayer room, complete with mats. This is a thoughtful and rare amenity for practicing Muslims. If I am ever by the Newark area again (especially during lunchtime where the price is more affordable), I will absolutely consider stopping by Halal Street.

This review only applies to lunch hotpot, not the regular menu. My coworkers & I like coming here for the AYCE lunch for less than $20 which is a steal nowadays. Because this is halal, there is no pork, but yes on beef & lamb and other fabulous items, including boba tea. I love their sauce bar - so many options and, oh, refillable soda is included in the price

I first heard about Halal Street Hot Pot on Instagram and it's $20, all you can eat lunch special. I thought it was too good to be true, so I wanted to go check that out and see if it was really true. Let me tell you, it is 100% absolutely true! The restaurant is super huge and there's indoor and outdoor seating as well. First up, you choose your broth and they have everything from Thai spicy, tomato, mushroom and a few others. Then you are on your own and they have all sorts of things including shrimp, meatballs, sushi, fresh fruits, desserts, vegetables, fried rice, dumplings, steamed buns, a huge sauce bar, DIY boba, churned ice cream and so much more. The staff will bring out beef and lamb for your hot pot and I preferred the beef more than the lamb. But yeah, there was so much food and there's no time limit as well for the lunch special. The lunch special is only valid Monday through Friday and the prices are higher during the evening and weekends. Service was friendly, fast and efficient. I highly recommended if you're in the area and I would totally go back especially when everything else costs about $20 anyways. Definitely more bang for your buck here.
